When should I use a router app?

Choose OpenWrt or Merlin when you want compatible TVs, consoles or other home devices to use VilaVPN without installing an app on every device. Router setup is more technical, so confirm compatibility and back up your router configuration before installing anything.

What about Shadowrocket, Quantumult X, V2RayNG, Clash or OpenConnect?

These are legacy or third-party paths. Keep using one temporarily if your device cannot run an official VilaNet app, but start with VilaNet for new installations. Third-party interfaces and features may differ from VilaVPN support instructions.

What about HarmonyOS?

There is no public VilaNet installation package for HarmonyOS yet. Do not follow unofficial download instructions or install a package claiming to be the HarmonyOS release.
