Flashing your router and installing third-party firmware/software may void the warranty from the device manufacturer and may potentially brick or destabilize the device.
Preparation:
Ensure your router is flashable and that you've backed up the original firmware and settings of your router.
Purchase a V2Ray service by VilaVPN.
Flashing and Installing Fancyss (Science Online Plugin):
Download firmware compatible with your router model, such as Merlin firmware.
Follow the guidelines provided by the firmware provider to flash the new firmware onto your router.
Download Fancyss (Science Online Plugin), and follow the installation guide to install it onto your router.
Configuring Fancyss:
Log in to your router's management interface, and find the settings page for Fancyss or "Science Online".
In the "Science Online" settings page, choose V2Ray as your proxy type.
Importing V2Ray Subscription Nodes:
Log in to your VilaVPN account, find the general or China-specific subscription link for V2Ray, and copy it.
Go back to settings page on your router, paste your subscription link in the V2Ray configuration section, and click "Update" or the relevant button to import the nodes.
Connecting and Testing:
Select the V2Ray node you want to connect to and click the "Apply" or "Connect" button.
Once connected successfully, try accessing some typically blocked websites to ensure your VPN connection is working.
Optimization and Troubleshooting:
You may need to adjust other settings in Fancyss and V2Ray according to your network environment and needs for optimal performance.
If you encounter any issues, check the logs for Fancyss and V2Ray and troubleshoot accordingly.
Please note, the specific steps may vary depending on the model of your router and the version of firmware, so make sure to refer to the official documentation and tutorials provided by your device and software providers.
